Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my own decorations?
You can absolutely decorate the space! We do not allow glitter or confetti. We also do not allow tape on the painted walls. Suction cup hooks, clips and tape can be used to hang decorations from the glass garage door and the exterior garage doors.
Can we bring in our own food?
Outside food and beverages is not allowed with the exception of dessert.
What A/V is available?
We have a projector you can hook up for any presentation needs. Please bring your own laptop and any attachments you might need for an HDMI connection. We have one wireless microphone available. All A/V equipment comes with the space and is no additional cost.
Can I play my own music or bring a band?
Yes! If you are looking to bring in a band or a DJ, let us know and we can work together to make it happen! If you want to play your own music, please bring your own laptop and any attachments you might need for an HDMI connection.

At Big Grove Des Moines, we strive to provide a fun and exceptional dining experience for all our guests. To ensure smooth service and fair table management, please review our reservation policy below.
Parties Smaller Than 12: • Reserve a table online or call the taproom to book your reservation. • Same-day-reservations: Please call the taproom to see if there is availability for your party.
Parties Larger Than 12: • For inquiries regarding availability for parties larger than 12 guests: please email mya@biggrovebrewery.com at least 48 hours in advance to ensure we can accommodate your group and confirm availability. • One Check Policy: Our taproom server policy includes a one-check policy with 20% gratuity to all parties over 12 guests, unless guests opt for bar service. • Same-day reservations: Please call the taproom to see if there is availability for your party. • Information Required: When making a reservation via email, please provide your full name, contact number, the desired date and time, and the accurate number of guests in your party.
Things to note: • Special Requests: Please inform us of any special requests or dietary restrictions (e.g., allergies, dietary preferences, high chairs, accessibility needs) at the time of booking. While we will do our best to accommodate, special requests are not guaranteed. • Confirmation: Your reservation is confirmed once you receive a confirmation email or message from Big Grove Brewery via Toast Tables booking. • Grace Period: We understand that delays can occur. We offer a 15 minute grace period from your reservation time. If you anticipate being later than 15 minutes, please call our taproom immediately at (515) 777-2337 so we can do our best to accommodate you. • Waitlist/Online Waitlist: We allow a 10 minute grace period from the time we notify you for you to come to the host stand to be seated at your table or to notify us of your estimated arrival time. • Holding Your Table: If we do not hear from you within the 15-minute grace period, your table may be offered to other waiting guests. While we will always try to seat you upon arrival, a significant delay without communication may result in a longer wait and an inability to uphold specific requests • Changing your reservation: We appreciate a timely notice for any changes to your reservation. Please notify us at least 1 hour in advance if you need to cancel or modify your booking. You can cancel or modify your reservation through the link in your confirmation email (or text), or by calling us at (515) 777-2337. • Table Requests: While we do our best to fulfill requests for specific tables or areas, we cannot guarantee them. • Holidays & Special Events: Policies may vary for holidays or special events. Please refer to the specific terms communicated at the time of booking for these occasions.

Are kids allowed?

Do you have more than just beer?
Yes! We have beer, wine, cocktails, seltzers, ciders, Climbing Kites, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Can I decorate the space early?
You are more than welcome to decorate the space one hour before the start time of the event
Can I order more food during the event in the instance we run out?
While we can't guarantee additional items for your buffet, we will always do our best to accommodate. If you're concerned about running out of food, we recommend ordering a bit extra, just to be safe!
Can I rent the entire brewery?

Do you require a deposit?
We do not require a deposit but rather require a card on file. This will be sent in our booking procedure along with an agreement. This card is not charged unless our cancellation policy is not met.
What is the cancellation policy?
Sunday - Friday AM/Saturday AM: We require a 5-day notice for cancellation. If we do not receive a 5-day notice, the card on file will be charged $750 or the food bill, whichever is lower, and be retained by Venue. Any event cancelled within 8 hours of the event start-time will be charged for the items ordered and gratuity noted on the BEO.
Friday & Saturday PM Events only: We require a 5-day notice if cancellation is necessary. If we do not receive a 5-day notice, the card on file will be charged $1,500 or the food bill, whichever is lower, and be retained by Venue. Any event cancelled within 8 hours of the event start-time will be charged for the items ordered and gratuity noted on the BEO.
We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise that may require the cancellation of your event. If a cancellation occurs between 8 hours to 5 days before the event start time, but the client wishes to reschedule, the card on file will not be charged. If rescheduled, the event must occur within 365 days from the original event date and based on the Venue’s availability. Any event cancelled within 8 hours of the event start-time will be charged for the items ordered and gratuity noted on the BEO.
If you cannot provide the 5-day cancellation notice, any payments made will be used to cover labor, food costs, and loss of revenue.
